Gasoline powered engines are not allowed on any lakes. Electric motors of 3 h.p. or less are allowed on Parkshore, Teal Lake and Stoneridge Lake. Spring Lake, Heron Lake and Mystic Lake are limited to non-motorized watercraft such as paddle boats and small sailboats. 1). The principal sources of water for the lakes are: a. Subsurface groundwater (water table) water migrates generally in westerly to easterly direction. b. Precipitation, A small amount of water seasonally enters Spring Hill Lake via the fire hall drain. 2) The Stonewater Creek flows independently through the development. If the water in the creek exceeds its design flow, the excess will be diverted into Parkshore Lake. This is designed to occur in a storm of 100 year or greater intensity. 3) Parkshore, Teal, Stoneridge and Spring Hill (upper lakes) are interconnected through a network of submerged pipes and the open channel at Peninsula Park. These are controlled to maintain a high water surface elevation of 825.0. 4) Mystic Lake and Heater Lake (lower lakes) are inter connected and are controlled to maintain a high water surface elevation of 822.0. 5) Other than through natural ground water migration, there is no connection to Blue Heron Lake or the pond in Hickory Creek. 6) Water flow by gravity through a submerged pipe between Spring Hill Lake and Mystic Lake, if necessary this pipe can be closed. 7) The drainage system is designed to provide 3' of storage for storm water (100 year storm event) in the lakes. The 100 year flood plain for the upper lakes is 828.0, for the lower lakes it is 825.0. As an additional safeguard the site grading plan is designed to maintain a minimum of five feet of difference between the normal high water elevation & the basement floors. 8) The upper lakes outlet via a pipe to the Johnson drain. The outlet is located at the Eastend of Stoneridge Lake. The lower lakes outlet via a pipe to the Johnson drain. The outlet is located at the southeast corner of Mystic Lake. 9) In addition to these outlets there is an overland relief swale which provides an additional drainage outlet. |
