Attached are the documents which you have already seen probably in your new bins, but here they are again for your use.
As a reminder:
- Place trash on one side of your driveway and recyclables and
composts on the other.
- Be sure the arrows on the lid are facing the roadway.
- If there is a lot of snow, put your cart in front of the snow
pile, if possible, or on top of the snow. Don't put it behind
the snow pile.
- If you have things which won't fit inside the bins, they must be
placed in 35 gallon or smaller bags (or 50 gallon cans) that our
trash workers will dump into our new bins once the first load has
been lifted by the machine. Do not set excess trash on TOP of
the new bins!
- Note that the recycle bin is picked up every OTHER week, per the
attached calendar. Recyclables include rinsed out food cans,
clean aluminum foil, clear glass containers (throw away lids, neck
rings, Styrofoam), recyclable paper such as newspaper, magazines,
phone books, cardboard boxes, and plastic containers marked on the
bottom with the recycle symbol numbered 1-7. NOT RECYCLABLE
are paint cans, siding, tubing framing, light bulbs, ceramics,
porcelain, window glass, tissue paper, decorative wrapping paper,
plastic containers from motor oil, cooking oil, pesticide containers
or Styrofoam.
- Note the ammunition, antifreeze, auto parts, auto batteries,
construction materials, drywall, fencing, freon, medical waste,
motor oil, hazardous waste, oil-based paint and stains, medals and
radioactive materials should NOT be put in our new bins and should
be disposed of through other means.
- Yard waste picked up from third full week in March through third
full week in December in containers under 50 pounds and/or under 35
gallons. Use paper compost bags OR you can use your old trash
cans marked with a large "X" facing the street. New
biodegradable plastic bags NOT accepted. |
